I don’t like to travel at night, being a single lady. I would like to suggest some free food to be delivered. Close to Poets Corner shops( off Redfern St). As well lit and close to lots doing it tough.
I m on Jobseeker at present and if any place needs a cook. I have experience and would love to work.

Hello there, the Movement homeless feed (free meals) is at 6pm every Saturday and the Street Buffet feed is at 5pm every Sunday, both at 164 Cathedral Street Woolloomooloo (the police station courtyard). For the Movement feed you can just show up and help. Bring a dish if you like but not essential. Check out their facebook pages for photos and videos. Enjoy 🙂

Hi sorry the only thing available is a place called The Staples Bag. Its located in Campsie Nsw 449 Canterbury Rd Campsie. You pay between $15 to $30 per bag full of basic food stuffs. There are no more free services anymore . All services including Churches and charities are now charging for food. Even if you are homless and get a referral from a gov agency such as human services.

That’s the biggest load of shit I’ve ever read. Maybe get your facts right before telling the world absolute bullshit! I can name about 100 free accessible meals in Sydney each week. 7.30,8.30,9.30 and 10.30 every night. Free meals and as Mich as you can eat too. Smdfh. Oh and don’t make me mention about the wlfood cards for woolies or Coles I can access from Anglicare-Summer Hill,
Anglicare-Surry hills
Salvos welfare assistance line
Aaaaaaand st Vinnie’s on Riley st, and burwood uniting church. I have accessed the above services every one of them within the last 3 weeks.
Vanessa
January 2nd, 2018 at 20:37
Hi i physically went into both anglicare and burwood church today and was told : anglicare – they dont have coles or woolies vouchers , they do have a bag of fresh fruit and vegs for $5 on thursdays. Burwood uniting church: they dont have a soup kitchen , they do have a fair trade cafe , on most days where you can purchase food. As for the free meals you speak of, i am not aware of where they are located. I do not go out after 7pm.

Let me have 2 guesses. You drove up in a rich car and expensive clothes and asked for freebies? Or you went in stoned( actually if stoned they would still help you)
Vanessa
March 18th, 2019 at 14:51
I do not have a car, the only clothes I own are a 10year old skirt and a 10 year old shirt and a pair of 10 year old thongs. I don’t have any money for anything. In order for me to travel , I have to walk every where. Because I have no identification documents, I can not get welfare, and even if I could I wouldn’t want it. As now you get referred to these job access members, who make you go there 5 days a week from 9am until 5pm to look for jobs for 3 months before they even think of filling out payment applications.
Got no qualifications, left school at 15 . got kicked out of home at 17 . Been homeless since I was 17. No free anything. No one cares if you are homeless.

Hello, there are free hot meals for homeless and those in-need on Saturdays (6pm) and Sunday (5pm) at 164 Cathedral St, Woolloomooloo (police station courtyard). Check out their facebook page ‘the movement sydney homeless outreach’ and ‘street buffet’. Hope it helps. 🙂

They require a referral from human services now. Apparently there are too many non homeless people accessing thier services. I don’t go out after 5pm.

Hi Vanessa, there is fortnightly free meal service on Saturdays at Martin Place (Macquarie Street side) starting from 4pm. They have a facebook page called the ‘Sydney’s 24-7 Street Kitchen and Safe Space Community’. I don’t think they have an extensive selection of food. Perhaps you’d like to give them a try one day ?
The Saturday 6pm feed at 164 Cathedral Street Wooloomooloo is still free, and no questions asked. I donate meals to them regularly. Unfortunately It is a little late for you.

Hi, Salvo Streetlevel cafe offers cheap lunches at $2-3 most weekdays at Derby Lane (off Albion Street) Surry Hills. There are free hot meals for homeless and people in-need at 164 Cathedral Street Woolloomooloo on Saturdays (6pm) and Sundays (5pm). The group that does the Saturday feed, called ‘the Movement Sydney’ also distributes free groceries – you can contact them via their facebook group. Hope it helps a little.

Hello, if you contact one of these two groups that provide homeless feeds at Woolloomooloo, I am sure they will appreciate your kind contribution.
https://www.facebook.com/www.themovementsydneyhomelessoutreach/
https://www.facebook.com/streetbuffet/
The Movement feed is at 6pm on Saturdays and the Street Buffet feed is at 5pm on Sundays. Both feeds are held at 164 Cathedral St, Woolloomooloo. For the Movement feed, you may be able to drop the food at a location closer to you – they are pretty casual and friendly. 🙂

hi i’ve been homeless all around aussie for 8 yrs except here the thing, i do it not because i need to its because i choose to.I have a youth social worker cert but i realised when i started my first job this isnt a 9-5 mon to fri thing this is a 24-7 thing and i felt bad for getting payed to help people didn’t seem right .my extensive knowledge of the streets and my will to survive inspire other homeless people not only survive but enjoy it .. now giving us free food and clothes is very generous of u all and we thank u but cmg from me its like like putting a band aid on a very deep wound .. and btw and making a homeless person laugh and feel genuinely loved is the best gift u can give them, because if u dont have another homeless person to spend ur nights with ull will go crazy.. there’s something very humbling about being homeless u feel as free as the air. come and go as i please nothing tying me down and really cutting of all the superficial crap that come with living a normal life.. and just buy dedicated my life to helping people managed to get 54 youth in the 8 years of living on the streets.. so i ask this of u fellow aussies… i need an up to date list of all the places we can get support but not just that it needs to say what kind for support they offer, address and age limits. and ill print the heaps of them out now and give them to the homeless and my final thing i ask for any funding u feel like donating to the cause will entirely go to go the homeless of sydney
my paypal email is jippa00@gmail.com any funding would greatly appreciated
from all us here on the streets we r committed to living life to the best of our ability.
